Comments
When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam.
An anonymized hash of your email address may be shared with the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. After approval, your profile picture may be visible alongside your comment.
Media
If you upload images, please avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS), as visitors may extract this information.
Cookies
We use cookies to enhance user experience:
- Comment cookies (name, email, website) last for 1 year
- Temporary cookies are set on the login page to check browser compatibility
- Login cookies last 2 days (or 2 weeks if “Remember Me” is selected)
- Screen preference cookies last 1 year
- Editing/publishing articles creates a cookie that expires after 1 day

Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely.
